Yeah; like when proof sets cost $2.10, you had to mail in a check or postal money order with your order and you then waited 6 to 9 months for it to be shipped to an address you no longer lived at! "

But when they did arrive We danced with a Smile , No one could take away, The U S Mints products have been placing a smile on my face for a Very Long Time Too, ..... :)

PS, Not the Quality it use to be !!!!!!!

Note:Those proof sets are commanding upwards of $35.00 Plus dollars with Silver being around $31.00/Oz....

The Flowing Hair Gold coin is still showing as "not available" which I believe means they don't have any ready to go, but they'll be making more at a later date. I believe this has happened before with other issues. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone recall how long it took before additional inventory became available, or is it possible they sold 17,500 coins in 10 minutes on the first day?

If they are going to offer more from the website, obviously it will only be after the auction finishes.

Wasn't obvious to me, but I can see the logic.

You can buy a Flowing Hair copper round for $1.99 on APMEX. Looks very similar to the US Mint Gold Medal.

The privy marked pieces are going for some serious money. I was unaware they were being auctioned until watching a video last night. I find it interesting that the first 3 pieces struck were Proof 69 and only when we get to the 4th do we finally get a 70. If the mint had instead released these as random drops to individuals who ordered them. Reward those who support your programs instead of auctioning them and making them unobtainable for most. Here is the link to the first piece struck that comes with the cancelled dies.

Well, let's see if this auction delivers a higher price than the unique New England Threepence.

My sentiments Exactly!!!!!!!

The Mints will always place the Bottom line Above all else, We just did NOT expect the Left-Cross to the Gut on this Release......

Coin # 1 is up to $160,000. . .Coin #230 is $12,000.

Stacks Bowers and the Mint are going to make a nice chunk of coin on this deal.
Expect more of the same going forward.

Mint sold 7,625 Flowing Hair gold coins on the first, and only day of release. So a goodly amount remains to be sold at some point I assume (unless 10,000 of them are going tonshow up on the Home Shopping Network).
