Hi, m8s!

I have a question about this coin.
David Hartill identifies it as one cash (#21.82), but Krause says that it is 2 cash (KM# 149)
Maybe somebody can tell me what exactly is this coin?

Cast bronze
Diameter 27.6 mm
Weight 4.89 g

I'm not sure what you want for an answer -- the coin is what it is. The value is arbitrary as there are only two or three types in the currency and they have the same value. They are lighter than some "1 cash" coins from similar eras (looking at Numista weights). Hartill says: They weighed 1 quan 6 fen each.

(Schjöth and Fischer's Ding both say "value 2".)

Generally 1 cash is often 22 to 24mm, so if more than 27 it is likely 2 cash.
But I wonder if it might be Japan or Vietnam because I found similar "look-a-likes?

This is what David Hartill writes about this coin:

"Documentary evidence of between 1651 and 1682 shows that these coins were made for Koxinga in Japan, probably at Nagasaki, and were extensively used in Taiwan."

Look up Nagasaki Trade Coinage incase it's one of those.
Nothing was found there, just an idea didn't work out.
But if the weight was 1 qian 6 fen, I think that's about 6 grams.
If this is a trade coin, maybe the terms 1 cash or 2 cash really don't apply.
Or some may say 1 cash is the smaller lighter coin and 2 cash is about the next size up?
