That 1962 Canadian half dollar is gorgeous!

I'm curious how close we'll get to a completed century before the winning year is posted.

I'm having a flashback to sophomore year Probability and Statistics. Basically it's just a variant of the matching birthday problem. Although I have also sat at a roulette wheel and watched black come up 11 times in a row, because short runs can defy average probabilities in surprising ways.

I was at a casino watching roulette. Someone who had just won a few chips gave one to the dealer as a tip, she placed it on a number. Wheel spins, and the ball landed on her number. Quite a coincidence, or something like that.

1972 United Kingdom 50 pence...

As vast numbers had been minted in the past three years to prepare for the introduction of decimal currency on February 15, 1971, no new British coins were needed for circulation in 1972, so, apart from the crown issued for the Royal Silver Wedding, UK coins dated 1972 were only made available in proof sets, which were not issued until... 1976!

I'm enjoying all the variety of lovely coins.

Here is one of my favorite classic silver USA commemoratives. 1937 Antietam Half; PCGS MS67/CAC

This worn and damaged 1980-P quarter will soon be headed back to the bank, notable only for the being the first year the P mintmark ever appeared on U.S. dimes, quarters, and half dollars. It took the U.S. Mint a few years to get the hang of these P mintmarks, as many of the early editions were very small, with filled letters.

Here's what appears to be a 1922-D LWC I found that's in pretty poor shape.

I like the idea of posting a 1922-D LWC, @igwt79, since that was the only U.S. denomination struck that year besides the Peace dollar.

No winner yesterday (11/2), but there does seem to be a winner today already.

BUT as per the initial rules, I will not announce the winner until tomorrow. You have 1 more day to show and tell, how close can we get to a full century?
