Gday again,

Whilst doing some sales research on 2$ coins in the analytics part of ebay I was surprised to see that the HH ( 88/89 2$) had out sold both the Red poppy and the 75th anniversary of ww11 2 $ coins in total sales ... and was responsible for 1/7 of all 2$ sales over 2 years .

Gday Crabeater - on your desktop computer ( not phone ) log into ebay , click on "my ebay" ( also called "seller hub" ) , then in the top bar menu there will be a tab that says "research" click on this , then there will be a drop down menu with "terapeak peoduct reasearch" click on this then search through all sales for up to 2 years with a heathy array of filters .

Thanks for the reply Perthite but it does not appear in my Tab at the top of the screen?
Could you put up a screen shot or scan or photo of the Tab menu please?

I think there is a phrase called "fetishised commodity" that may well be called upon here. however it cannot be ignored the level of want for this coin - I wonder if there is a administrative error that has not ruled out fake/false bids ... but that would mean account closure of those who had . I have also thought of the fact that HH also stands for H/H in some mis-worded ads .

Yes, I remember reading a news article about HH, and I think the author was totally confused and getting mixed up with H/H (heads/heads) and that night have led to the HH craze.

Gday Crab Eater -

That may be it, I have only started selling coins this year , I first sold a few mineral specimens a few years back but it may have made me eligible for that access. I enjoy watching the trends though - it will be interesting to see what happens when the King Charles coins comes out - if it's a positive or negative effect on the demand for coins by coin collectors. I personally feel like I want to complete my "Queen Elizabeth II " series now more than ever

Back to those rare 1988 HH coins

So you paid $250 for this "rare" HH $2 "with multiple errors". What do you do with it then. Strange how you never see any of them graded by PCGS.

I think you may have missed the point Machinman - I def have not paid any money for a 1988-89 2 $.

And the reasons someone collects a certain coin is because they like them - I am a one cent man, there's nothing special about them really and there were certainly more minted than the 88-89 2$ and we only had a blunt whisker to get excited about ! let alone an artists not so subtle jab at our colonial history that forced his initials to be moved from his art.

It can not be ignored that it is one of the most collected coins in the past couple of years . now where's those 2022 ten cent hey ! I don't think anyones found them noodling yet. they are now selling for 50$ a pop

Perthite, those HH coins have been a long-running joke amongst many CCF members.

With nearly 200 million HH $2 coins minted the only reason behind this scam is to profiteer by selling them at ridiculous prices to gullible fools.

The reason why they are outselling red poppy coins is because there are almost 400 times more of them out there.

The "you" was not referring to you personally Perthite, but to all those abovementioned gullible fools.
