I wanted to show off the progress on the Roman Emperor set I've been building for a little while now. It's all in a nice riker box display I made, looks great imo.

On a really tight budget at the moment, so I don't mind poor condition as long as it's identifiable. Though there are many I would definitely like to upgrade at some point.

My cut-off is around 420 AD, right before the coins start getting really tough to find and the bronzes get really ugly.

Why is X, Y, or Z missing? I didn't want to include any usurpers, debated, or unrecognized emperors in this set. If I happen to get an example of Maxentius, Saloninus, Albinus, or others I may shift some around to fit them in or, more likely, I'll create a second display for the usurpers and uncertain guys.

Also, I do have a Constantius Chlorus on the way. Next one I'm looking for is Maximinus Thrax.

Likewise thanks for sharing your set with us. Seems like a long-term labor of love.

You've got the right idea, Tanman. Start with lower grade specimens and upgrade as you go. The collection is coming along nicely! Thank you for sharing it.

"Stick with your plan - upgrade when you can" The way I display my coins is constantly changing. You will no doubt find a an unexpected find that will make you shift everything around -again and again

I like the way you have yours labeled, I 'm thinking about making information cards for each coin.

Two of my current displays - both of which I picked up for free at my local coin shop:

Nearly a year later, wanted to give an update on the current state of the set:

Upgrades:
Augustus - Colonia Patricia AE RPC 130, lifetime issue, very worn but with a nicely contrasted portrait.
Nero - Victory As Lugdunum Mint RIC 543, better than the previous but that's not saying much.
Commodus - Libertas Denarius RIC 135, AE to AR upgrade.
Elagabalus - Uncertain Moesian AE, Nothing left on the reverse but portrait is solid.
Aemilian - Viminacium AE RPC 89, Actually cherrypicked at the World's Fair of Money this year. It was in a 9 coin unattributed lot that ended up being about $10 per coin.
Gallienus - Sol Antoninianus Mediolanum Mint RIC 495, I like the Mediolanum portraits and this is a nice example.
Claudius I - Uberitas Antoninianus Siscia Mint RIC 193, better all around.
Probus - Victory Antoninianus RIC 215, portrait is clearer albeit smaller.
Numerian - Numerian as Caesar Antoninianus RIC 263, makes nearly the whole row Antoniniani which I like the idea of.

Additions:
Caligula - Thessalonica AE w/ Antonia Minor RPC 1573, Caligula side is worn and off center but the Antonia side is pretty nice.
Otho - Securitas Denarius RIC 8, was in a NGC slab but no longer.
Maximinus I - Pax Denarius RIC 12, Christmas 2022 gift to myself.
Saloninus - Spes Antoninianus Asian Mint RIC 36, wasn't going to add him to this set but found a coin for a good price so might as well. Definitely need to upgrade though, this is probably the worst coin here.
Constantius I - Constantius + Jupiter AE Cyzicus Mint RIC 19a.
Maxentius - Castor + Pollux AE Ostia Mint RIC 35, again wasn't going to include this guy but found a decent one.

Also, I am holding a show-and-tell contest at the moment with a two Roman coins as potential prizes if you haven't seen it yet: http://goccf.com/t/454952
