I believe the sales topic should have at least one photo, but I see no problem linking to another topic with more (better) photos, grading opinions, etc. That can only help make for a more successful sale.

I'd like to know if linking any CCF thread to the CCF selling section, ebay or Facebook marketplace, for example, would also be acceptable. I couldn't find anything in the CCF rules prohibiting that type of Informational linkage.

If you are selling something on CCF, and you want to add a link to a CCF discussion on the specific coin, I see no problem with that.

If you are selling something on ebay or Facebook marketplace, for example, we have a separate place to promote those sales.

This is probably more of a buying question than selling, but applies to both. Are there any CCF rules about negotiating a sale through this forum where the lister has the coin for sale on the Bay for example? In an effort to sidestep the fees.

I don't see a problem contacting the seller and asking them to contact you if the item fails to sell on ebay.

In an auction, they post their bids in the listing.

For purchase now, they PM the seller to say they want to buy, and put a post in the listing, such as "PM sent".

For best offer, you can set a time limit if you want. Best offers are usually sent by PM.

I'm wondering whether items that are not coins or paper money can be sold here, as long as they are somewhat numismatically related. By way of example:

Can you sell coin albums and storage boxes, or only coins/currency?

People have sold coin/etc. supplies before, so no reason to stop it now.

Hello,

I had a question; I realize I'm not at 250 posts yet so I can't make a trade post, but I'm in a bit of weird situation. I have a $100 Silver Legacy, Reno Nevada chip that I'm trying to have somebody help me cash in as I live out of state, would it be ok to post this in the opted into "General Discussion" forums? If not, that's ok, I'll wait until I have 250.

Thanks

General Discussion is a very narrow audience. You will have a better chance of success posting it for sale in this forum when you become eligible.

In the course of a thread, let's say someone mentions that they are trying to complete a nickel set. Is it okay to message them that you have some dates that you want to sell? If that is allowed, will it be better to direct them to the Selling sub-forum and list them there or can you deal privately with the person if they show interest?
