Poll Question
I'm posting this here because of the prize of a raw 1892 proof IHC which falls within US Classic and Colonial coins. I believe this poll will receive more traction here. If I, however, have placed this in the wrong forum then please move it at your discretion moderator(s) to the appropriate forum. For the last month, I've been running part 1 of a contest in the Contest, Quiz, and Giveaway forum. The participants were to post events from the beginning of 1891 through 1893. I chose the top 10 events which resonated with me. I'm placing these ten events in a poll which is to run from 3/1/22 through 3/10/22. On 3/11/22 the winner of the poll will be decided by this poll and the winner will receive a raw 1892 proof IHC. Here are those 10 events below. I'm asking the CCF members to choose the event which he/she personally feels is their favorite of the 10 listed. That is part 2 of the contest. Members of CCF will pick the winner. If you are unaware of any of the events below, further descriptions of the events can be found in most posts within the contest thread. If you have time also read all the ones that did not make the cut. http://goccf.com/t/415756&whichpage=1

Good Luck to the winner.

It was first published in the juvenile periodical The Youth's Companion on September 8, 1892, in the following form:

"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands; one nation indivisible, with liberty and Justice for all."

The words "the flag of the United States of America" were substituted for "my Flag" in 1924, and the pledge was officially recognized by the U.S. government in 1942.

In 1954, at President Dwight D. Eisenhower's urging, the Congress legislated that "under God" be added, making the pledge read:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

I am very honored to be chosen to curate this wonderful piece of numismatic history! It will take pride of place in my small collection as the oldest (by ~70 years) of the proofs. It will also be a conversation piece in that it comes from the Doctor of beautifully toned classics. Thank you again for your generosity and to all those who voted for my story. I had great fun with this contest since I am also a history junkie. You've inspired me to steal your idea for my next contest (in the not too distant future.)
