Hi everybody, I just want to share you the newest mexican banknote, released officially last friday in Mexico by the Bank of México. It is the new 20 pesos Banknote, It is a commemorative edition celebrating 200 years of independence. Mexico's independence was officially achieved on September 27, 1821. The 20 Pesos denomination will be erased from the mexican banknotes by the Bank of México due to it will be replaced by a common coin (of the same value) So, this is the last 20 peso Banknote printed and issued by Mexico. However, this last issue has an important distinction within Mexican numismatics since it is the first mexican Banknote printed with a mixed design; Obverse Horizontal and reverse vertically. What a way to say goodbye. General Information: Paper: Polymer Obverse: Arrival of the Trigarante Army at Mexico city Reverse: natural reserve sian ka'an, crocodile and bird Orientation: Mixed Color: Green & Red Size: 120 x 65 mm Mintage: (if the word is correct for banknotes ) 300 millions Country: Mexico Printer: Bank of Mexico

Thanks for the information. The reverse of the note is very nice. Quote: The 20 Pesos denomination will be erased from the mexican banknotes by the Bank of México due to it will be replaced by a common coin (of the same value) Is the design of this 20 Pesos coin already known? Will it be a new coin? Or will the 20 Pesos ''Death of Zapata'' become the new regular 20 Pesos coin?

Quote: Here's mine. As are all notes from this series, the reverse depicts an UNESCO Heritage Site. I entered it for the IBNS Bank Note of the Year. This note is quite small. Very nice!

I entered this note for BNOY. I checked the IBNS site here: https://www.theibns.org/joomla/inde...21&Itemid=51So far six notes are listed, but NOT mine. I believe this site page is not updated as often as I would prefer. For one, what if YOU have a note to nominate? You can only tell what has been loaded so far, not those nominated but not loaded yet.
