Marvelous set! I see that the last two coins are commemoratives, but what are the two coins before those? A 1972 Type 2, and...?

Thanks.

the other coin is a 1972 type 3. The 1972 type 1 coin is in the very first hole designated for the 1972 coin.

as soon as I get the 10 point rub-on lettering (which matches the Dansco type and font) I will label all the varieties in the album.

Oh Wow, I totally missed that you had the '72 type 2 earth in that album. I believe I may have misspoken earlier when I said I had a type 1. I think it is actually a type 3. Whichever one has the islands to the left of Florida in the Gulf. I still need the type 2 to truly complete the series. Congrats on a nice set!

Yes, that is correct.

I have both variety 1 and 3 in my Dansco, but I doubt I will ever add variety 2 since that album has been complete almost 28 years now.

I only have variety 1 for the PCGS set right now. I will most definitely get the other two varieties at some point.

I'm working on this same set and I have the same Dansco. It's been fun seeking out what I need and getting a crash course on cracking open proof sets. Are the brown ikes easy to open? Are they the same as proof sets? I haven't attempted any of those yet.

But these coins do look really good in this album. I'm used to filling albums with cheap circulated examples. There's something really satisfying to me filling each hole with perfect clean pieces knowing they have never been touched. Shiny!

They are sealed and use the same lens as the 1968-1972 proof sets. Actually easier to get them open than it is the clad proof sets from the 1973-1978 with their additional black bezel.

Thanks for the info and wishes. Much appreciated.

Looking forward to seeing your new photos.
And I'm not sure if I'm having a dumb moment or what but which hole is for 1976 clad proof?

That would be the very middle coin and the one right after it (coins 5 and 6 if counting from the top row.) They are labeled as 1976-S Variety I and II.
Funny that Dansco didn't label them as proofs.. I may have to add that before I take the new pictures.

Sorry I'm not sure how to quote reply...but that is very odd they didn't label the 76-S as proofs! That was driving me crazy all night. I guess I just assumed those were going to be regular clad strikes going there. Makes sense now. Your labels look really nice I like that. I've seen that centennial commemorative before but not the other. Nor did I know about the friendly variety. I will have to seek out these ones as well.

Thanks. I don't know why they didn't include the 'Proof' label either - maybe it was assumed due to the "S" mint mark. It took me a while to find a labeler and label tape to get that part just right. Now every time I modify any of my albums, I can label them and have it looks nice.
I did that to any and all albums that had proofs but did not include the early ones. One I had to heavily custom label was my quarters albums (link in my signature).
Yes, I found that "friendly Eagle" sometime ago, but forgot about it, now it is home where it belongs (thanks to you).

anyway to start a quote quote you use the square brackets "[]" and the word 'Quote' in between them - to end the quote use the brackets again, but add a slash '/'quote.
I quoted your response up above - Now I'll add a capture of how I did it:
