Mints around the World are having a tough time, because the
demand for their core business for the iussuance of circulating coinage is shrinking rapidly.

In order to stay alive, they are issuing huge volumes of high quality (and in my opinion) over priced collector products. Those huge volumes are counter to rarity and exclusivity.

Although interested, contrived rarity never really appealed to me.
That is why I never buy new Mint product.
I perceive them as poor investments, but that is me.
Very rarely, I will buy collector coins, but only on the secondary numismatic market, and then only as a cherry pick.

@sel, 95% of them do quite poorly on the secondary market, so your strategy to buy them later is a good one.

However, they sure have a lot of well made interesting items, you must grant that.

The quality of manufacture on most modern Mint product is superb.
It has to be.
