I was just pondering about detecting recently: What finds do you think shouldn't have been found the way they were? (Ex: super deep-down modern clad, or very shallow old coin)
My best example of this is a brand new 2015 dime... found 5 inches Underground!
The 1758 Reale that I dug next to a southern Michigan farmyard driveway.
An 1865 2-cent piece dug in a modern ballfield, 10' beyond second base.
An 1885 V-nickel, a surface find in a flower bed next to a city house. Found it about 1975, as a teen.
A mint-condition silver 1972 German 10 Deutsche Mark olympics commemorative, I found it about 1975 as a teen, eyeball find on a buddy's driveway. No one there had any idea who might have dropped it.
A 1924 Peace dollar, holed, about 2" below ground surface. It hit like a crushed pop can. Dug that between a newer ballfield between first base, and the concession stand 30' away. Almost didn't dig it!
Just a couple I can think of, somewhat unusual.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72
