Interesting item. Could be just what John1 said. Packard and Cadillac both used flying women hood ornaments in the 1930's. I'm sure there were other companies that did so as well.

It could have been on a boat, too.

I was thinking hood ornament also.

Looking down on it, are there any mounting holes?

I'm watching The Antiques Roadshow and saw a hood ornament that was worth $20-30K.

It was nicer/cleaner than yours but I was really surprised at the value. Turns out that they were designed by some very famous artists.

Definitely worth looking in to.
