You are welcome spence. Thanks for the response too. Indian coins especially of the Princely States have some very special designs. That makes them rather easier to identify. But some that share some characteristics and look alike at first sight are issued by different states. That is a real challenge to attribution like Datia and Orchha. I shall be sharing some such images later. Hope this thread is helpful.

This is an issue of Sayaji Rao III. This has "Badoda" on obverse. Coin does not show the name of the issuer specifically but mentions as Gaekwad in general.

It was a practice of the rulers of Baroda to indicate the issuing authority with the initials of their names. Thus Khanderao Gaekwad is indicated by "Kha" and "Gaa" written in Devanagari script.

BELA: Bela was founded in 1742 by Jam Ali Khan. In 1955, the state became part of Pakistan. Bela now is part of the province of Baluchistan.

BHARATPUR:This state that was carved out following the confusions that followed death of the Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb was once considered formidable. Later, it was seized by the British. It is now in the state of Rajastan.

Another copper coin. Parts of date "49" can be seen to the left of dagger mint mark of Bharatpur mint. On the other side, parts of a date is seen as 12xx.

BHAUNAGAR:Located in southeastern Gujarat on the Saurashtra peninsula. Also known as Gohilwar as the area was ruled by Gohil Rajputs. The state had a long coastal border with the Arabian sea along the Gulf of Cambay on its East and Southeast.
