Some of you know that as I was doing my Indian Head cents album that I had come across sooo many holed cents that I decided to start a holed IHC collection lol. I had always left a spot open just in case I ever came across a true holed 1877. I finally found one......

Awesome! Was that the last one you needed?

I've never seen a holed 09-S, but I've seen an eloginated 09-S from the 1915 Expo. That would be tough to fill a hole with.

I thought I had seen everything, but this collection sets a new bar.

Remarkable.

On the 08-S and the 09-S just be patient.....OR

buy a couple of low grade problem specimens and take em to the garage. Open the tool box and get a hammer, grab a small nail....

....problem solved! (Just don't punch through the mintmark!)
Rest in Peace

I have to find them already holed but that's a thought. I don't think I could do it.

I know a guy who has a Liberty Head Double Eagle that was turned into a watch. The coin has been ruined as far as I can tell in every way. The face and reverse of what is left of the coin has taken a beating and somehow the coin was hollowed out to put in the watch guts. The watch band is just cheap leather and is not old. This may have been done when gold was still 20 dollars an ounce.

You've found the '77, so anything is possible. But I'm thinking the later the date, the less likely a cent would have been holded for jewelry, so these oould really be tough.

Anybody seen any holed early LWC?

Holey Moley! Cool set. I'm looking for a counterstamped 1909-S IHC to complete my set. Picked up a 1908-S last year and have had an 1877 for many years now ... all counterstamped.
