Agree that it is appealing design ... alas not much interest on my behalf to collect modern clad commemorative.

I love the Civil war half, thats one of my favorites for the modern half series.

It is a shame the series isn't silver, but a great series either way

I agree. In fact, I like all three of the obverse designs that Don Troiani prepared for the Civil War Battlefields commemorative program - half-dollar, silver dollar and gold half-eagle. Of the three reverse designs that were paired with Mr. Troiani's obverse designs, I think T. James Ferrell's "battlefield with cannon" design for the half-dollar is the strongest.

I do enjoy this obverse more than the dollar obverse.

Too bad they didn't switch these in 1995.
