I saw a recent post where a lot of bird themed coins were posted. I personally collect horse themed coins, and I thought it would be fun to open up a thread to show off world coins featuring a horse or horse-like creature. I will start it off with my newest piece, a 1978 50 Chon from North Korea. It features the image of the mythical winged horse called the Chollima.  |

Soviet 10 rubles from the 1980 Moscow Olympics series  Depicted here is an old nomadic game, "Kiss the girl". A youth is trying to catch the girl and kiss her. After that it's his turn to flee while the girl tries to whip him. And everybody's having fun! 50 luma of Nagorno-Karabakh  Do you count stylized horses, figurines, monumental ones? |

Roman soldier taking down a soldier on horseback. A very old horse too! I've been told that the coin is from 351 A.D.   Information on this coin (so I've been told.)
