It's very annoying when you're just doing some random browsing and this sort of ad comes up:

This ad is getting as much prominence as some Royal Mint ads for Proof Sets. If you click on it, this is what you see:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275138380597
A coin someone's pulled from their pocket change, with a mintage in the hundreds of millions, worth face value, being sold in contravention of ebay's rules, which state "Listings for current, exchangeable, ungraded currency from any country worldwide cannot exceed £1,000 in value, whether in a single listing or in a combination of multiple listings".
It's annoying enough to have to wade through these sorts of listings on ebay without ebay itself then 'promoting' these ridiculous listings.

Funny, just when you think it can't get anymore crazier - well, it gets crazier!

Reported the listing (based on an ungraded current coin being priced at over £1000) and got this response from ebay...

This is how it begins. We learned nothing from the Terminator and Matrix franchises.

Evidently if you pay for a listing promotion then ebay will protect you.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Well maybe not the seller but the product. The coins are real but not from shipwreck, but the packaging is misleading

There's been a few of the Texas "coins" on ebay lately. Must have come off the same boat from China.
