Struck-Jan 98 AD, 18mm, 3.52g, 6h. Rome mint. EF.

RIC II 44; RSC 91; BMC 64.

O: IMP NERVA CAES AUG GERM P M TR P II
Laureate head of Nerva right.
R: IMP II COS IIII P P
Aequitas, standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae.

Nerva assumed consulship for the fourth time on January 1, 98 AD. At some point during the day, after the inaugurations and ceremonies were complete, Nerva suffered a severe stroke during a private meeting. He died several weeks later on January 27, 98 AD.

This purchase completes my five "good" emperors set.
What a pronounced nose and Adam's apple!

Nice one! What an expressive portrait. Congrats on completing the good emperors' set.

The Adam's apple almost won the race, but the face won by a nose. (The coin may be silver, but that was comedy gold right there.)

Doesn't happen too often, but I am at a loss for words.

Well done Bob and what a super coin @fin!

Oh yeah, very nice Nerva Finn! I love the portrait, you picked a great nose there!

I've had this guy on my list for years, he's on my short list for 2025.
