Hi all.
My firts solo metal detecting trip resulted in
- 20+ junk finds
- 5 tolar coin from 1990's
- 20 dinara 1965 coin
- 1 reichspfenih 1942 coin
- and a bullet, unfired.

Does any of you have any reccomendation on how to clean the latter, so I'd be (perhaps) able to see the inscription on the back of it?
Thank you in advance

Rest in Peace

Toss it ,my friend. Not worth the risk. It has been corroded, exposed to water and most likely is inert, meaning not explosively dangerous,....But, if by chance it was sealed around the primer(end) and a good crimp around the bullet, the no telling what state the powder is in. Chemical cleaners may have an adverse reaction not to just the powder but the metals themselves. Dispose of it, not worth losing a fingertip over.

Looks like an AK-47 round, 7.62 x39mm?

Looks like a common .30 cal or 7.62 mm. Firing it would take a sharp blow to the primer. You can keep it as a found treasure or take it to your local police for disposal if it bothers you.

I personally would not mess with it. I'm no munitions expert but, I'd be very cautious considering the corrosion that's visible.

If I actually used my detector, I bet I could find a few of those around these here parts.
