No Full steps for the 70 d's!!! Unless you want to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars. Mark in front of the eye is not on the coin.

This one wasn't cheap either, so it has to grade Choice+ or it gets sent back. It is really hard to get a feel for grades on the 60's and 70's Jeffersons because there are so many die issues. Its hard to judge strike and they seem to be very lenient of hits.

Here is a PCGS MS65 to compare.

I'll guess MS-65, maybe better.

I can't grade Jeff's worth a darn...( some might say any coin for that matter...) because who's to say which marks were place into the planchet during the annealing process and which ones from after the minting....
At least there are some steps

So I'd say how does it fit in with the others in your set?

Please don't show comparison coins when asking for a grade. With the pink color of the pictures and all a 65 would be a safe bet.

I can understand this, Marve. I normally wouldn't but with these 60's and 70's Jeffersons it's so hard to tell circulation wear and die wear from year to year.

Appreciate everyone's feedback for sure!

I think it makes choice+ (my 70's set grade min.) where the price jumps from $2 for MS64 to $25 for MS65. I wanted to get feedback because there are some strange (hopefully) die related issues on the eaves of both sides of the capital above the columns. Really weak in detail.

I hadn't even noticed! I'll have to fix that before I post this over to my other thread.
