A few weeks ago I got 10 coin rolls from my bank: 4 penny and 6 quarter. I search these to complete my 1975-2013 penny album and to complete my circulation collection of the State Quarters, ATB, Territories and American Women series. I recognize these will only have face value but I do it anyway.

Highlights of the hunt:
1 LMC went to the misfit pile. Barely recognizable.
Found 7 ATB Quarters I lacked.
1 US Territories quarter I lacked.

Lowlights of the hunt:
3 of the 4 penny rolls were each short 1 coin
All six quarter rolls were short 1 coin
One quarter roll sandwiched in a dime in the middle
Another quarter roll had a 2014 United Arab Emerates 1 Dirham, nickel-plated steel coin (magnetic).

The above shortages aren't so much monetarily offensive as is the realization that they are likely (IMHO) deliberate! The more I think about it the more P 1 $ $ed I am. I definitely will mention this to the branch manager next time I'm there. I know when I cash in rolls, they are never checked.

Relearning guitar after 50+ year hiatus. Check me out.

An interesting mix. I will take the losses to have the wins.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been a roll searcher across many decades. I've experienced shortages in customer wrapped rolls, as well as overages. Always fun to find an errant dime or two in Lincoln Cent rolls. Over all that time, I believe I've come out about even--even when accounting for foreign coins (a few of them silver) and a car wash token.
