'The new design featuring the Queen was unveiled this week, after her death in September at the age of 96, and will include her familiar profile but with a notable difference.'

Please forgive my ignorance of Australian coinage, but was the same done for King George VI?
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Wonder what is on the reverse? Won't be a Mob of Roos though as it's a Perth Mint wannabe coin.

No, probably because there were almost no non-circulating collector coins being produced in 1952/1953.

In the future, there are going to be lots of coins with QE11 effigies.
Some will be memorial coins issued into circulation, but most will be NCLT.

A speculative question:-
Would the US Mint issue an NCLT QE11 memorial coin,
with any of the Gillick, Machin, Maklouf, Rank-Broadley or Clark effigies ?

Canada will be doing something similar: 1952-2022 will be on the 2023 dated coins, and rumor is that Charles III will appear on circulating coins after his coronation.

Has anyone found out which sets will contain this obverse? As the vegemite year set will be continually minted during 2023 I did wonder if the vegemite $1 would have this obverse at some point?
