Burglars shoot windows to test for alarm system
http://news4sanantonio.com/news/loc...er-christmas

What if someone was in the home when the burglars were shooting at the windows? Sounds like a good way to be charged with attempted murder, really brazen crooks. Anyways I thought that this sobering article was a good reminder to stay vigilant.

Note it was a BB gun, yet they said "professionals"....huh? Around here that's 18-24 year old banger-wannabes. One big clue is the "pile of tools", wasn't lifted. The more easily fenced and less "weighty" items indicates no vehicle used, on foot. I did like the typical idiot response, "Get a job, stay out of jail". A job is the cure-all for society's ills, correct? Just like all ISIS needs were jobs....then they wouldn't kill people. How about put the miscreants in jail to begin with, prosecute the wrong doing. If that was done, maybe these WB's might think before they act.

Article promises to reveal "techniques you need to know about to better protect your home."

It turns out to be "a security system and a bigger back fence".

Yeah it would have been great if they would have given some actual tips to prevent burglaries. Shoddy journalism 101.

With the rising cost of ammunition I shall give no warning shot!
Violators will be shot, survivors will be shot again

Your typical victim, it's now too late to get that security system. It's kind of like getting flood insurance after you flood. These were not Professionals, they are just well seasoned losers, feeding their habits off the hard working folks. If a few more of these would walk in on a armed homeowner, we'd have fewer lowlife's preying on the good folks. Until the judicial system starts locking up these losers for longer & longer sentences, the revolving doors for the thieves will always screw the hard working, law abiding folks. Sorry for the rant, but I get sick and tired of these habitual criminals prey on us.

I agree completely - Although check out your state's laws to see if you are a "stand your ground" state. Ohio is!

Would like to know what coins were stolen.....I wonder if they were informed in numismatics as the average person would've taken other items unless they just figured it was money! Usually when this happens slabbed coins get cracked and silver/ proof coins end up spent at some liquor store or something! UGGGG!

There was never any mention of how large, or how small. It could of been a cigar box full, as far as we know.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Media just put that in there to make their article better. They leave tools in the garage? Never mentioned them even getting into the house? Did they?
