1920-D Liberty Standing Quarter For Grading

Reverse has this light brown smudge too that I don't know what it is. I've never done acetone dips before, would like possibly help the brown smudge? Report this Post to the Staff

Jester Valued Member United States 208 Posts	Posted 04/14/2023 09:40 am I took it out of the book to try and get better pictures and it needed an acetone bath which got rid of most of the brown. I didn't do it long so maybe it will need another. It was either putty to try and fill in those scratches on the right reverse, or 50 yrs ago, someone was eating chocolate when they shoved it in there. Anywho, it's better now. I admit, I'm not good at spotting cleanings that don't have hairlines. So I don't see it obvious in this one. Do you mean to say it's an old dip due to the darkness around the crevices. I still think the coin was cleaned but i'll upgrade to AU details. it will look nice in an album since its obverse up and the obv looks pretty good Report this Post to the Staff
