Tim, this is a very nice problem to have. I would be happy with coins like this. But I understand trading them in. I trade/sell stuff that doesn't fit in my collection all the time.
If I was you (but I live in NJ) and I no longer wanted these, I would shop around the local dealers to see if there was something I wanted. Sometimes you get slightly more if its a trade and not a sale.

The Russian coins are probably the highest percentage over spot

My 2 cents. I deal a fair bit of bullion on Facebook groups. Canadian groups but I don't imagine US groups would be a lot different. Everything sells over spot.

If I may bump my own thread, check this out. Auctions where you have a lot of gold coins, and the bid is not in dollars but in % of spot price at the time of sale. And some of these are already getting bid well up over 100%. Of course there are auctions fees, which I believe on SB are 20% so that is a hefty chunk, but I will be watching how these go. https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/a...188?limit=96

Also, "100%" does not mean 2x the price of gold, but the exact percentage of the gold prices, adjusted for the actual gold content of the coin. For example, if a bid says 126% and the gold content of the Half Eagle is 0.242 oz, then you would pay: 1.26 x 0.242 x $gold/oz. At a current spot price of about $1630 this would be $497.

what a great collection. I know the ducats and the Krugs are bullion value, maybe a little more for the slabbed ones. I've got a similar France 10F I paid about spot for too. You might consider selling on this forum and avoid the ebay fees. I'd be a buyer for a couple coins. Can you put me in your will just in case the worst happens? I promise to take excellent care of the collection.

Once I get to 250 posts, which at my current rate might be mid-2023 or so, I'll post all my gold on this site, see what the interest is. I've got a bunch of US pre-33 as well, which I like better but lots of duplicates, and being a type set kind of guy, no need for lots of the same thing. Here goes with post #205, stay tuned...

Reddit subforums r/gold and r/pmsforsale are active places for the precious metals community. You can sell much better than spot. There are zero fees on Reddit and a trader feedback rating system as well as trusted middleman available. If nothing else you'll get a feel for the market via die hard stackers. It's an active place. Mexican gold has a strong following. Stack on.

I agree that some of those coins are definitely of numismatic value.
The gold sovereigns were often mainly government minted bullion, but the half sovereigns were circulating legal tender in the day, not just bullion. The gold sovereigns were one pound (GB & Australia) which was 20 shillings and the half sovereigns were 10 shillings.
My wife's grandfather used to repair old peddle organs and he found two "lead weights" inside one of them. These "weights" were rolled in paper, so he threw them in a corner of his garage. 10 years later, the galvanised cladding popped open in that corner and the "weights" dropped out onto the ground and sat there for a month or two before he noticed them.
The paper perished, and it turned out that they were not lead weights, but two rolls of Australian gold half sovereigns, 38 in all !!!! I helped him sell them. About half were worn enough through circulation to be worth melt value, but half were collectable and one was rarer, was in EF condition and I sold it for about $400.
If I recall correctly, the most recent date was in the 1930s.
Edit: The ones in that collection do seem to be a bit above bullion value, while the scratched ones may not be above bullion.
