To help me show my appreciation to the good members of CCF for all of the sage advice freely given since I joined in January this year, I am going to hold a guessing competition. The prize is an almost complete set of Australian pre-decimal pennies 1911-1964.

Two key dates are missing, the 1930 of course, and the 1914 which is the 4th rarest. There is a nice 1946, and also a 1925 which was sadly sticky-taped into an album some decades ago and has lost some patina around the O in One. As the rest of the coins have come from my spares & rejects bucket, some of them are less than top shelf, but overall they're not in too bad a shape. There are a couple of varieties missing, (1941 K.G and 1953 A. and a few obscure variations on date types, but for the most part, they include examples from all mintage's. 70 coins in total plus I may toss in a couple of nice error coins. Shipped free post to your particular location.(check the fine print)
So, what do you have to do?
You just need to guess how many coins are remaining in the "spares bucket".
A few clues. (Approx in metric...sorry to the imperialists)
Around 80% of these are Australian Pennies, 30.8mm dia. 11.3g when minted. The rest are mainly Australian Half Pennies, you can research them if you want....me, I'd just have a stab in the dark.
Weighed on the $20
Kmart bathroom scales
Me + the tin of coins = 108.4 kg's
Me = 103.5 kg's

Approx. 230mm dia.

Very roughly 35mm deep
There are completely over-the-top rules of course!
1. You only get one guess - and to avoid confusion, that is one less than two guesses.
2. Your guess can be exactly correct or less than the actual amount, but not over. Guesses which exceed the real quantity will not be eligible. (Harsh but fair)
3. Your guess MUST be different to all other previous guesses or else it will not be considered. If that does inadvertently happen, you will be eligible to have another guess, but it's up to you to monitor that (as a thought, try scrolling back to check the previous ones.... ) and you MUST make a note of your ridiculous blunder within the new entry. (now THAT is fair!)
4. The competition will end on Monday 21st of November 2022 at 7.00PM EDT (Forum time). I have no idea what time that will be down under...we're in TomorrowLand here)
5. Late entries with post times exceeding the competition end will not be considered.
6.
ANY edited entries for whatever reason will be disqualified, so please review your typing.7.
In light of the bogus weight information previously supplied all entrants can now have TWO guesses! Good luck.

Fine print. Sadly some places in the world have less than reliable postage services. Once I post them off, they're out of my control. So should you win and you have doubts on receiving them, let me know prior and see if we can find an alternative.
