1952 D Wheat Penny (Possible Error?)

Akkdayam Valued Member United States 149 Posts	Posted 06/19/2022 01:42 am I was looking through a Wheat penny box I found and I found this weird looking 1952 Wheat penny (under the 5) and wanted some thoughts on if it's PMD or a error or what (sorry if I get some things wrong I'm not really a experienced collector), as I try to collect error coins and world coins (also sorry for the terrible photo quality I Couldent find a good spot to take the pic) Edited by Akkdayam 06/19/2022 01:44 am Report this Post to the Staff

I'm seeing damage along the rim and then a linear raised portion of metal that goes to the number 5. I suspect that this extra metal is semi-attached rim rather than a die crack. But I agree is is damage to the coin. (Moving it back would make it fall off of the coin) Report this Post to the Staff
