Nice score X2an. I'm loving the 1984 Ringgits.

I spent a few hours yesterday going through this bin of coins at my local Antiques Market, which is open on Fridays and Saturdays!

10 pence a coin. Mostly junk but made a few additions to my World collections and rescued a few small silver coins!

All the shiny ones were dated 1967!

Well after quite some hibernation (alternatively escaping to another country for a while...), we're back to see what there is..

1 Gulden, Netherlands 1939
1 Frank, Switzerland 1921
20 Kroner, Norway 1994
5 Mark, Germany 1979-D

All this for 80 kr - another good buy! Unfortunately there really wasn't much more, the weather hasn't been great lately and there just doesn't seem to be too many people around. Well see what next time brings

All these finds look very cool. I should also visit a local store. I hope I'll find something interesting there, although I rarely find anything interesting there.

Well I have to apologise to all loyal readers of this ongoing series... I've been too busy to sit down and post recent finds, so I will now cheekily post three Sundays in a row..

This Sunday saw some old banknote hunting+a small bag of coins for SEK 110 total. Admittingly it's been a while since I last saw the old 100kr notes in person, nice to get two (sequentials!) specimens to hold on for a while.

The next sunday saw some better luck finding coins, specially the typical neighbouring countries' high denominations!

A nice NOK 178 in legal tender currency and a 10 kr commemorative I didn't have before!

A more modest hunk of Danish coins and some DKK 49 in legal tender currency

Perhaps the most interesting part of this lot? Ethiopian 1x25 Santeem 1977 + 13x1 Birr 2010! For reference, there is no 2 Birr denomination so the 1 Birr coin gets circulated a lot as evidenced by the sheer quantity here

Some exonumia, a large chunk of medals from some sports fishing club. No precious metals here unfortunately, all plated copper.

And here's the last bits and bobs - some interesting Costa Rican pieces, otherwise just the common bits you'd find here ofte.

All in all a combination of two lots costing me a meagre SEK 150

And here's the last installment of this catch-up trilogy... a more modest collection.

A UK 1985 new effigy set and a Swedish 2 Öre SM 1765 for SEK 70. Interesting point is that for 1985, there were no circulation issues of the 5p, 10p and 50p - the 'new' effigy 10p wasn't even released for circulation at all until it was downsized in 1992!

Cheers for now

Awesome findings!

What do you usually do with some coins and notes that are demonetized?

By the way, do you find out anything about that gold medal or coin related to BMW?

Keep up doing the great work! I would be thrilled if I live near this market of yours! :)
