So a few things have certainly changed... As per goverment mandate, there is a new regulation on social distancing where there isn't allowed to be a certain amount of people within a certain space... can't remember the number but - this market I've been going to was shut down as part of it. No worries, for I went with it and stared walking around and would you know it, I found myself a possibly better place not too far away! (for those of you planning to come to Singapore one this blows over - it's in Chinatown, I believe the place was called Chinatown Complex, lots of stalls of various things. Head as far inside on the ground level and then look around - lots of coins and currency!) ½ Cent, Straits Settlements 18? 1 Cent, Straits Settlements 1845, 1865, 1887 & 1907 5 Cents, Straits Settlements 1919 10 Cents, Straits Settlements 1919 1 Cent, SIngapore 1989 1/12 Anna, British India 1907 1 Paisa, India 1968 5 Paise, India 1977 20 Paise, India 1983 2 Rupees, India 1982 ½ Rupee, Bhutan 1957 50 Chhertum, Bhutan 1979 1 Ngultrum, Bhutan 1979 1 Rupee, Pakistan 1977 20 Sene, Samoa 1967 1 Dong, Vietnam 1964 10 Dong, Vietnam 1968 1 Shilling, UK 1928 ½ Crown, UK 1928 2 Shillings, South Africa 1940 1 Cash, China (undefined) (x2) 5 Zhu, China ~0 AD 1 Rupee, Nepal 1994 10 Satang, Thailand 1908 ½ Cent, Netherland Indies 1945-P 50 Sentimo, Phillipines 1993 5 Won, South Korea 1970 10 Tiyin, Uzbekistan 1994 20 Tiyin, Uzbekistan 1994 50 Tiyin, Uzbekistan 1994 20 Tiyn, Kazakhstan 1993 1 Lira, Turkey 1947 10 Lepta, Greece 1912 5 Rubles, Russia 2015 50 Baisa, Oman 1995 50 Centavos, Mexico 2012 5 Nuevos Pesos, Mexico 1994 5 Halala, Saudi Arabia 1972 5 Sheqalim, Israel 1 Likuta, Congo, DR 1967 25 Ngwee, Zambia 1992 2 Mark, Germany 1976-D % 1977-F All for S$29 Quote: Please be careful out there! There is some added nuance to the numbers you're seeing - the large majority is recently imported cases. Since some time now, all entrants have to serve a mandatory 14-day quarantine upon entry, and it is from these most new cases are detected. Of course, there are local transmissions but the numbers are (comparably) very low and mostly linked to clustres. The government is very efficient in these matters, but nonetheless it's struggle. Also a bit of a caution is, of course, fakes. Walking around Chinatown I saw lots of the usual big bad fake silver coins, but lots of different types at many different stalls. Definitely buyer beware!

Nice haul, X2an! You're lucky to be able to go coin shopping - all the places I get coins are currently off-limits due to Coronavirus.

I went back to this new place in Chinatown for even more, and what do you find when you're digging thorugh the boxes... 1/4 Cent, Straits Settlements 1899 1/2 Cent, Straits Settlements 1845 1 Cent, Straits Settlements 1884 5 Cents, Straits Settlements 1910 20 Cents, Straits Settlements & Malaya 1910, 1948 & 1956 1 Sen, Malaysia 1967 20 Sen, Brunei 1971 10 Sentimo, Philippines 1981 25 Sentimo, Philippine 1983 & 1991 1 Piso. Philippines 1985 2 Piso, Philippines 1994 5 Tiyin, Uzbekistan 1994 50 So'm, Uzbekistan 2018 200 So'm, Uzbekistan 2018 50 Tyin, Kazakhstan 1993 50 Paise, India 2009 1 Paisa, Pakistan 1975 10 Centimes, Haiti 1975 1 Sen, Japan Showa 14 5 Toea, Papua New Guinea 1987 1 Franc, Rwanda 1985 5 Pyas, Myanmar 1966 50 Pyas, Myanmar 1966 50 Avos, Macau 1993 50 Fils, Iraq 1959 10 Halala, Saudi Arabia 1988 5 Fils, UAE 1973 10 Francs, French Polynesia 1979 5 Escudos, Mozambique 1971 2 Rupees, Sri Lanka 2006 All together S$32 worth. Starting Tuesday, the government has implemented a 'circut-breaker" against the coronavirus for four weeks which is a partial lockdown where "non-essential" services are to be closed and people are highly urged to stay home. What this means, I suppose, is that I won't be going to the market anytime soon. I hope this has given reading pleasure to those in lockdown!

Just bumping this up to see if you have been able to go out and find anything new? As for me I had about 10 lbs of foreign to go through while the Covid is going on, about 1/2 through them. Enjoying putting them in order.

Well it has been quite a while but cases are dropping in Sweden while the vaccination rate is getting higher, so I've decided to return to showing the stuff I find on the same, original market in central Stockholm. However, due to work over the summer I will not be doing this weekly or so. So after the long hiatus there were immediately some things to see. 150kr worth gives you this: 20 Centavos, Honduras 1973 50 Piastres, Lebanon 1952 10 Sheqalim, Israel 20 Kroner, Norway 2002 10 Kroner, Denmark 1979 Thailand, 5 Baht 1982 20 Kroner, Denmark 1996 5 Mark, Germany 1967-J, 1970-F & 1975-F 2 Krooni, Estonia 1930 See you all for the next time
