So a few things have certainly changed...
As per goverment mandate, there is a new regulation on social distancing where there isn't allowed to be a certain amount of people within a certain space... can't remember the number but - this market I've been going to was shut down as part of it. No worries, for I went with it and stared walking around and would you know it, I found myself a possibly better place not too far away!

(for those of you planning to come to Singapore one this blows over - it's in Chinatown, I believe the place was called Chinatown Complex, lots of stalls of various things. Head as far inside on the ground level and then look around - lots of coins and currency!)

Please be careful out there!

There is some added nuance to the numbers you're seeing - the large majority is recently imported cases. Since some time now, all entrants have to serve a mandatory 14-day quarantine upon entry, and it is from these most new cases are detected. Of course, there are local transmissions but the numbers are (comparably) very low and mostly linked to clustres. The government is very efficient in these matters, but nonetheless it's struggle.

Also a bit of a caution is, of course, fakes. Walking around Chinatown I saw lots of the usual big bad fake silver coins, but lots of different types at many different stalls. Definitely buyer beware!

Nice haul, X2an! You're lucky to be able to go coin shopping - all the places I get coins are currently off-limits due to Coronavirus.

Starting Tuesday, the government has implemented a 'circut-breaker" against the coronavirus for four weeks which is a partial lockdown where "non-essential" services are to be closed and people are highly urged to stay home. What this means, I suppose, is that I won't be going to the market anytime soon. I hope this has given reading pleasure to those in lockdown!

Just bumping this up to see if you have been able to go out and find anything new? As for me I had about 10 lbs of foreign to go through while the Covid is going on, about 1/2 through them. Enjoying putting them in order.

Well it has been quite a while but cases are dropping in Sweden while the vaccination rate is getting higher, so I've decided to return to showing the stuff I find on the same, original market in central Stockholm. However, due to work over the summer I will not be doing this weekly or so.

So after the long hiatus there were immediately some things to see. 150kr worth gives you this:

20 Centavos, Honduras 1973
50 Piastres, Lebanon 1952
10 Sheqalim, Israel
20 Kroner, Norway 2002
10 Kroner, Denmark 1979
Thailand, 5 Baht 1982

20 Kroner, Denmark 1996
5 Mark, Germany 1967-J, 1970-F & 1975-F
2 Krooni, Estonia 1930

See you all for the next time
