What Is This Shadowing On My 1992 D Penny? Please Help

Hello Mickifan77. I feel privileged that this is my first post on this forum as I just joined a few days ago. I have been a huge Lincoln Cent fan and collector for many many years and have seen a lot of different questionable things on both bronze and zinc Cents. I have done my best to learn how to differentiate between all the oddities, varieties and errors. I am pretty sure what you have here is both Die Deterioration Doubling as well as Split Plate Doubling as shown in your photos. The Die Deterioration Doubling is responsible for what looks like the additional devices or letters/numbers that you can see on both the obverse and reverse of your coin. The Split Plate Doubling is most predominant, in your pics, between the devices and the rim where the copper coat has exposed the zinc below. Unfortunately this is not an error coin. Hope this helps.

So you might want to save this coin as it show DDD on both sides of the coin. That way if you have a new collector asking questions about coins, you can show him this and you can help him to on his way to knowledge of coins collecting. (Kind of a show and tell item and you don't have to look for an example to show him)
