When I first started on CCF, he was one of the people who welcomed me, encouraged me, and always shared thoughts with me. I was sad when he left the forum, and I am sad to hear of his passing. Life is precious.

When I first read some of Butches posts on CCF about 2 years ago I said to myself , this guy has some of the same opinions as I do about red Lincolns found CRH being AU and not MS . So one day I PM'ed him and we shared a lot of information about coins .He was a treasure trove of knowledge on virtually anything as most people who knew him can testify to .We got to be pretty close and very good coin buddies ,then I was asked to join the Black Sheep Squadron ,that's when my whole world opened up with ; this is hard for me to explain but the original 7 of us who never met each other had a bond beyond anyone's imagination. Talk about e-mailing .Some day's I would wake up to 50 of them . Talking about anything you can possibly think of ,not to mention bashing on each other all day .We had a ton of fun until one of us ( another CCF member passed away ''Tootallious '' on April 15, 2020 .He was a good friend and his passing was devastating . Now 3 months later Butch passes and now the 5 of us that are walking in circles scratching our heads .  |

Very sad to hear of this. He was very kind to me too. Sent me stuff in the mail on a few occasions. I see here he was just as nice to others without letting on one bit. I was able to look past his shortcomings easily because his friendship was genuine. I missed him when he was no longer on CCF but I did follow him on ebay for awhile. We had quite a few private messages and email. I was surprised to see his actual photo on the forum. I pictured him to be a much younger guy before seeing it. I miss him and I miss Toot too. I think those two went to different schools together if ya know what I mean. It would be neat if his daughter and grandchildren joined CCF. |

Not sure how many of you were former military or had discussions with Butch about our great country, the military and world events. I can tell you he loved this country, was a true patriot and a Marines Marine! Many of us spoke the same language and understood each other from afar.

Dear Crazy Bo. Mr. Butch
I will miss you forever. I have not come to CC for a longtime. Today I read the news that you passed away. You are very kind and you have a big heart for everyone.
I do not know how to say about how sad I am.

Oh my...
I certainly knew of him, and found his posts very interesting and informational. I didn't have a direct conversation with him, but he seemed like a great guy.
I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. He was indeed a very important member.

Well someone got their wish  This is Butch's daughter, Shelley, and I just want to thank you all for comments. They are such a blessing to read. He loved anything that had to do with coins and loved helping out when he could. Him and Jim were taken too soon. I got the privilege of meeting Jim when dad helped move him here and they were like brothers. Now they are together comparing their sets! Again, thank you all so much for the kind words. |

Hello all. My name is Glen, as in Glen and Shelley. We are so grateful for all the kind words about our dad. He is absolutely amazing person. We have heard so much about all of the BS Squadron. I guess if you want to ban me I guess it's ok with me. Dad got me started collecting. I have a long way to go to know what is good/bad with coins. I find it very relaxing.

 Oh boy! Too many weirdos on this forum  Welcome Glen and Shelley as you can probably tell we all loved your dad (and dad in law!)

To the Family Glen and Shelley!! Your father was much loved and respected and as you can see will be missed. He made a difference in a lot of peoples lives and many of us have fond memories of the conversations we have had with him. I look forward to getting to know you two and hope you enjoy this family as much as your father did. Our prayers go out to you and your families during this difficult time. Feel free to PM any of us if you just need to talk.

Shelley & Glen! I'm glad you found your way here and are able to read all of the comments/memories about your dad. He certainly left his mark here.  It's great to see you are interested in coins and I will try to help in any way I can. That's why we're here and why we got to know Butch, after all.

Very inspirational that he affected so many lives in such a positive way. I remember his name from my early visits before I started contributing.
Sorry I never got a chance to interact with him and benefit from his knowledge. But thanks you to all of his close friends who opened up to let the rest of us know how special he was.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
