Yes and it does not stick to a magnet. Sorry forgot to mention that.
Quote: Strangely it does not look cleaned to me
It does not look cleaned in hand as well. In fact the tops of some of the devices are frosty while the fields look clean (Not cleaned) and almost PL. It is a very lustrous coin. With the proper luster of a silver coin imo.
Bought this from a coin shop in Idaho. Showed it to some people and had one call it a fake due to its condition. Said the jewelers in India are faking these for tourists. What do you all think? Is it a counterfeit?
Weight is right on on my scale. I do not have calipers to measure the diameter.
Just came in the mail today. Only a 1/10oz but still a nice little piece of shiny gold. I think it may be a DDO. I noticed the L in Liberty is doubled while I was shooting the photos. Is this common on these?
Quote: ,but you know we are going to want to know what that stand set you back
This is listed on Ebay for BIN at $219.00 OBO with free shipping. I probably paid to much by offering $200.
Quote: You probably want something labeled "Daylight" or "Natural Daylight" or 5000k to 5500k. Basically a bulb that mimics sunlight, i.e., ALL colors.
Thanks will look for some with 5500k.
Any suggestion on wattage? I am thinking 100 watts as 300 watts seems a little much.
I went to order a macro new lens for my Canon T6 DSLR, Well I found out that my funky home made copy stand would not work well with a larger lens due to the increased distance I would need to shoot at. This meant I needed a new taller stand. Well instead of trying to make another one I broke down and ordered one.
I currently use 2 Jansjo Goose Neck Desk Lamps for lighting but the copy stand also come with 2 light fixtures that can take bulbs up to 300W Photo flood lights. Should I bother trying to get some bulbs for these or will my Jansjos work just as well?
Your father was much loved and respected and as you can see will be missed. He made a difference in a lot of peoples lives and many of us have fond memories of the conversations we have had with him.
I look forward to getting to know you two and hope you enjoy this family as much as your father did.
Our prayers go out to you and your families during this difficult time. Feel free to PM any of us if you just need to talk.
This is very sad to hear. I have been wondering about him lately.
Crazybo (Butch) is who got me into Canadian coins and taught me a lot about RPMs. I still have a large amount of coins I received from him. Some I bought but most just arrived out of the blue. Yes he was that kind of guy. He'd call em "Care Packages" and always made sure he included something for my wife as well.
I will always remember him as the RPM king and for his constant generosity.
You will always be remembered in my house and in the whole CCF Family. Thanks for the lessons and for sharing your knowledge with the world.
