Difficult to grade accurately from such small dark photographs, but I would say possibly UK grade good very fine to nearly extremely fine, but previously cleaned and with rim damage.

I think I would give it VF on the UK scale - knocked back a bit because of the edge damage. This, I believe, corresponds to MBC on the Spanish scale or XF to AU on the Sheldon.

You're probably right Paddy, as I said it was hard to be certain with only those photos to work from and so always best to err on the side of caution.
And speaking of photos: what's happened there?

Sorry @Hogarth - what was the query about the photos? I can see them - they are not great with a reflection from the plastic sheeting and a bit dark, but I can see them OK... ?

Hi Paddy.
On my screen the photos of the Vic half penny have disappeared and now I'm seeing two photos of close up details from an American coin.

The OP looks like a US nickel struck from worn-out dies? Did the original pics get replaced by ones meant for another thread?

All very weird - I still see the original pictures of the Vicky Halfpenny. Moderators/Admin - are you able to look into what is going on here?

Looks like the last two images from this thread are showing up in the OP:

Maybe they were uploaded with the same filename on the same day?

Well I can still see the original Halfpenny pictures. For those that can't, I have downloaded them and reloaded them here:
