I didn't notice it wasn't sealed until I got home, and when I started going through the Customer wrapped rolls, it was obvious. I stopped after $9 and took it back.

I almost always weigh my cent rolls before I start searching them. If they're solid Zincolns, they'll weigh 125 grams (4.4 ounces). A roll of copper cents will weigh 155 grams (5.5 ounces).
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

I find a good way to get around getting dud rolls is to bypass the rolls altogether. Go to a branch of your bank that has a coin counter and ask them if they have a $50 bag of pennies. It's invariably made up of loose coins that merchants and such bring in for deposit. The bank tellers take these pennies, have the coin counter count them up and put them in a $50 bag. You'll find plenty of copper pennies including the occasional wheats this way. I've searched several bags and have found around 20% keepers each time.

Well my bank closed their coin counting machines but another bank close to them has a coin counting machine still so I opened a saving account with them and will dump there and when I dump I will deposit the amount into that savings account to try and keep them happy.
Rest in Peace

Still getting copper in boxes here, but it is decreasing. Have to figure, people hoarding, the inserting of BILLIONS more Stinkin Zinkins from 2016 & 2017 drastically reduces the available amount of copper by rote. Not surprising here. Too bad all these Stinkin Zinkins ain't rotting quicker!

I picked up 2 bricks of Looms rolled cents Tuesday from Chase in Salem. Get this, out of 5000 coins 11 were copper. I put 2 and 2 together and realized The Portland Mint is 47 miles from me. Its obvious they have an agreement with Looms and probably the other armored car companies to provide/sort/reprovide etc. Capitalism at work. Portland Mint is largest copper and nickel coin coin investment outfit in USA. 9 pound box of coppers $29.00 , 68 lbs. $171.00, a ton of them $5,250.00 not including shipping. This guy is a trip and making money hand over fist they even store your nickel and copper as hedge and charge for storage. Most say poohpooh but you have to admit he is a brilliant guy. Lets see 160 cents per pound x 9 equals $14.40 face you pay $26.00 wow! no way for me.
The upside of boxes of zinclons is the variety in the 80's forward of which I might find. Lots of 83, 84,88 and 92 cents were in the boxes and you never know. Copper is a dead end for me I have nowhere to store its truly dead weight for me. Silver and gold the ultimate hedge LIMO.

I have about 20 lbs of copper cents collected in an cleaned out plastic pretzel barrel. Doing it just for fun. I still get lots of coppers out of circulation, I'd say at least 10% of the Lincolns I get in change.
