Here is a pic of the 1806 Cartwheel penny that my dad found in the Sydney Botanical Gardens back in the 1970's. Shows the effect of 150 + years of Australian summers and winters. About as "true blue" a coin as you can get, hence the blue background . Squire

Its not a cartwheel penny but none the less very old with a lot of history behind it no doubt. Was it found in a hole or just on top of the ground in the gardens?

Hi enworb. Thanks for correcting me on that one . Of course, the Cartwheel Penny has a thick rim. There is a groove along the rim of the above 1806 penny. This is what made me think if it as a "Cartwheel Penny" in the first place. I will ask my dad where he found it when next we meet. Squire

One good thing tho, The smell from a bakery in the early hours of the morning are one of the wonders of the world in my opinion

I'm a mechanical engineer but no longer work as one. Taught myself computer programming in the early 2000's, wrote some software which I started to sell online and in 2006 I quit working for an employer and now just work for myself. I still do a bit of contracting helping out various companies with (mostly) computer software development and support.

Usually when I tell people what I do for a living, they either freak out or start telling me some story they think relates to it.
So I'll just say I work for the Government.....

I am a traindriver and a trainer of new traindrivers, hence the name. Thirty three years of shiftwork and still enjoying the security and pay that goes with it.
