I've got a huge box of foreign coins that are "junk". Which means that I have pulled out silver and high value of course. However, the majority of the box is "junk" only in that I already have copies of them. However, this box may well only be junk to me, not to you. There are actually some really nice coins in my junk bucket. If others have a similar junk box full of duplicates, maybe we could arrange a trade. My junk could well be your treasure, depends if you have it or not. Your junk could be my treasure, or could end up in my junk box again. I'd love to trade coin for coin, that is, I'll send out 100 or 200 or 300 or...2000 or more in exchange for an equal amount. I promise to mix my box well to ensure a wide variety (seriously, really wide variety but not promising no duplicates). Hopefully no one sends me 500 Mexican 5 Centavos or something. Anyway, I've got nothing to lose since the box just sits there anyway and if yours is in a junk box too, you probably have little to lose either.

Basic info needed: do you ship overseas + do you have the nerve to deal w/ small lots (more like 30 than 300)

I'd be willing to do overseas, I suspect the "junk" you have would be way different from my junk. But it seems like a lot of postage for both of us for such a small deal. Any idea what this would cost?

I know what it'd cost me, but as for you, depends on the weight, the packages I get are usually marked w/$4-$8 postage. Though sending the coins without the 2x2s (i.e. in flips taped to a piece of paper) would greatly reduce the weight. The choice is yours

I would also be interested. How about 300 coins to start? PM your address to me and I'll get 300 out to you on Monday.

Hi JGfindring, sent out 300. They were almost 4 pounds! Wow. Used a USPS priority mail envelope for $4.95. Not too bad. Anyone else wanting to trade a few hundred "junk" coins.

Got your coins already, who says the USPS isn't doing their job. I'm thrilled with the coins I got. I tried to make sure I seeded the coins I sent to ensure it wasn't too junky, but wow, if this is your junk, you must have a great collection.

Got yours today also, great mix. Found several that I need - I am trying for three from every country. Didn't get any new countries, but got second and third coins for a few. Let me know if you want to trade another set of 300.
I don't read Cyrillic, so it took me about a half hour to id the Bulgarian coin.

I'd love to trade another 300. I haven't gotten into the pile yet, other than to drool over it for a few minutes, but from what I saw, I love it. Besides, $5 for 300+ potentially new coins is like the greatest deal I've found. Let me know some of the countries you're looking for and I'll "dig deeper" for some.

I'll try and get you out another 300 on Friday. Just send whatever, half the fun is sorting through them.

Hi jgfindring, I sent out another 300 yesterday. I felt a little bad after the last 300, though I swear I sent out good stuff, it still felt like I got the better end of the stick. Therefore, I salted this 300 a little bit, not a lot, don't get your hopes up too much, it ain't gonna pay the mortgage, but a little bit.

Did you ever get my last shipment? I believe I sent it out on 8-21. I did not get anything from you either.

Got yours, great mix. My business partner was supposed to mail yours and forgot. They didn't go out until today.

Hi jgfindring, got your second box today and I am thrilled again. I waited for the second group from you to begin and dumped them all together. Very cool what I'm finding. This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I started this thread. I hope you got something worthwhile as well. So far all I looked at in depth was the Tanzania coins. These alone were worth to me the 600 coins I sent, the $10 shipping I spent, and the time to put it all together. Now I've got a whole lot more to go!! Saw a bunch of new ones for me (I collect date and mint from around the world).
So, is there anyone else interested? I know some of you got mixed lots over the years from countries that are different from the countries I have gotten mixed lots from over the years. Let's trade some more!! I've got a bunch of thousand more in the "junk box". Turns out it is only $5 to send a huge pile of coins within the US if you use the postal service box! Quite a deal, they provide the packaging, and they'll even tape it closed for you! I'd say that this was the most economical way to acquire coins that I've had in many, many years.
