For those seeking to migrate to the American West in the 1800s, "ground transportation" often meant travel by Conestoga covered wagon. The 1926-39 Oregon Trail Memorial Half Dollar features just such a conveyance - a Conestoga covered wagon being pulled by oxen.   Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems.
