No this is not "first drachma"- this is 10 Lepta. Drachma is a larger denomination of greek coins. Lepta is a small denomination coin. The name lepta sometimes is used as " small contribution" as a figure of speach.
Not red-brown, toned brown. Red brown is a designation of usually uncirculated coin, which retained partially .copper original Reddish color.
First drachmas were ancient greek silver coins from 4-5 Cent BC

"First drachma", in this context, refers to the currency system under which this coin was produced: the drachma issued from 1837 to 1944.

And yes, more pedantically this currency system would be the "first modern drachma" for Greece (as it is called on Numista), since the true first drachmas (more usually called "drachms" in English) were issued in ancient times. The "Second modern drachma" was used 1944-1953, and third modern drachma from 1953 until replacement by the Euro in 2002.

Greek coins post-1826 are very popular with collectors in Greece, since they are the only Greek coins that people in Greece are legally allowed to collect (buying and selling ancient Greek coins is highly restricted in Greece). This high local demand, combined with quite low mintages, explains the high catalogue prices seen for 19th century Greek coins.

Yes I'm aware on the ban on exporting ancient greek coins. A good thing imho. I read about that roman coin that was sold in uk, eid mar. The coin was impounded by authoritys, it was believed it was found in greece at an old roman camp if I remember correct.

Is part of this lot I mainly bought for the horrendous danish medal. I tend to buy some odd cheap coins that I like. It's marked NL but I believe that is wrong.

Maybe an Arabic coin. There is an envelope marked with year 1050 and some text that is hard to see in the picture. Would be fun if it was something exciting
