Canada's National Flag is a popular theme for the Royal Canadian Mint (R C M). A few circulation coins with the flag have already been presented, here are a couple of non-circulating legal tender (NCLT) collector coins with the flag theme:

It would be great if we could focus just on true flags vs. banners/pennants, etc. Thanks!

In 2012, the US marked the bicentennial of the poem that became its national anthem - the Star-Spangled Banner. The original poem was written by Francis Scott Key.

To help mark the occasion, a two-coin commemorative program was authorized by the US Congress. The program consisted of a 0.900 fine silver dollar and a 0.900 gold Half Eagle ($5.00 coin). Each of the coins features the inspiration for the anthem - the US Flag.

The obverse of the Silver Dollar features a standing Lady Liberty waving a 15-star, 15-stripe Star-Spangled Banner flag (current in 1814 when the US had 15 States); Fort McHenry is depicted in the background.

The coin's reverse presents a close-up view of a waving 50-star modern US Flag focused on the field of stars; 20 whole or partial stars are visible.

The Half Eagle's obverse design presents an American sailing ship (foreground) with a damaged British Ship leaving the battle scene (background).

The reverse design is a stylized rendition of the US Flag as seen in 1815 (i.e., 15 stars, 15 stripes). Rather than a standard flag, its design features are presented as a long, striped ribbon with an arc of stars between the one and eight positions on a clock. The opening line of the Star-Spangled Banner - "O say can you see" - written in Francis Scott Key's handwriting is presented as the foreground element in front of the ribbon.

Great contributions so far!

A medal from me: Legion d'Honneur - the Legion of Honour - is the highest French order of merit. It is awarded to French citizens and foreigners for extraordinary civil and military merits. Established by Napoleon in 1802, it has been awarded by every French government since then.

The medal's design has changed a bit over the years, especially when it comes to what is shown on the both sides of the medal. This one is from the 4th republic and made sometimes in the 1950s. One side shows Ceres (as a symbol for the French republic), the other shows two French flags. It is of the Officer degree (2nd lowest of the five degrees; only a few percent of the orders are of the three highest degrees).
