Day 74

Time for another weekly update.

Found 13 A-Z dollar coins (3x 2019 and 10x 2022) and just the one $2 I was still looking for.

Seems the new 2022 letter coins either come all in a bunch or not at all depending on when the security companies rolled the coins.

Coins still to find:

20c: 2001 Tasmania and Norfolk Island
50c: 1966 and 1985

$1 (19 A-Z coins):
2019 B,C,D,H,K,L,P,T,W,Z
2021 B
2022 C,E,G,H,J,O,P,Z

$2:
2013 purple coronation
2015 red ANZAC
2016 green & blue Olympic ring
2017 rosemary Remembrance
2017 red Possum Magic
2019 Repatriation
2020 Firefighters
2022 Honey Bees

As an aside,:
What is the rarest issued into circulation Australian coin?
- that in theory, could be found in pocket change.

If you are talking about decimal coins then the 2020 Mob of Roos dollar has the lowest mintage at 430,000.

The RAM reckons they minted 100,000 2021 MOR but they haven't officially been released into circulation. No circulated ones have appeared on ebay, just some official RAM mint sachets.

And these days a low mintage figure means nothing until the next two or three annual reports come out and we learn the actual final total which turns out to be much higher than the initial hyped-up figure.

Day 91

Three months into this project and I am getting down to the nitty-gritty.

2 of the 3 A-Z dollar coin series have been completed and the 1985 fifty cent has been found, leaving the requirement of the highly improbable finding of a 1966 round silver coin to complete the 50 cent set.

Recent finds:

Coins still to find:

20c: 2001 Norfolk Island
50c: 1966

$1 (8 A-Z coins):
2019 B,C,D,K,P,T,W,Z

$2:
2013 purple coronation
2015 red ANZAC
2016 green & blue Olympic ring
2017 red Possum Magic
2019 Repatriation
2020 Firefighters
2022 Honey Bees
