I don't usually eat them. Hershey has to add to much carnauba wax to their chocolate as a mold release agent (read the ingredients) b/c of the speeds needed to fill the daily demands. The taste and quality of the chocolate is very much lowered. When you taste quality real chocolate you almost choke on Hershey. I have nothing against the company itself, and one of my good friends was their main engineer. He is the one who explained the above to me.
In fat he said when he was making a batch of candy for the office he was in that he would go turn the controls down to make purer chocolate candies. He told me it was the best "Hershey chocolate you will never eat!" He also told me increased cost of production meant they had to add more fillers.
BTW...Canadian Smarties are still a good quality chocolate candy that are like M&Ms.
An inexpensive place in the US for quality chocolate is an Aldi store. Get their Moser Roth bars. Its German import chocolate at an inexpensive price. Make a bite of one and follow it by the M&Ms. You will immediately understand.
The Chicago Blommer company has received worldwide awards for best chocolate, but they do not sell retail. They sell bulk to companies, so we mainly get stuff like Hershey in the States unless you go to a private business.
How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash?
