I've been collecting coins and bank notes ever since my dad brought back coins from his trip overseas in the mid 90s.
I did the
State Quarters for a few years before switching to Ag, Au, and Pt. I sure do miss the days of $7 an oz of silver and gold at $350 an oz.
I cashed out when silver hit $20 and gold went to $1000 thinking they were bubbles.
When silver was $45-50 an ounce I dabbled in some British and Euro coins since buying bullion at those prices was foollish.
I lost a bit of money when my GBP became worthless after QE2 died.
Now I have two jobs as a cashier and skim pre82 US pennies and pre97 Canadian pennies, silver,
Buffalo nickles, wartime silver nickles, and foreign coins and certain banknotes.
On a slow day I may even go to a bank and get a $25 box of pennies to sort through since I can dump them at work a bit here and there. One bank has since stopped doing buisiness with me even though I don't dump there.
One of my customers has me searching for star notes or radars and the coin dealers in Ohio love me.
I'm looking to scale up my bulk searching of coins and signed up here.
