1996 Kookaburra Golden Eagle Privy Set

mrcruise Pillar of the Community Australia 541 Posts	Posted 02/18/2023 05:02 am Can anyone provide any insights into the 1996 Kookaburra Golden Eagle Privy Set. Catalogues indicate that there were 800 of these sets made yet I cannot find any reference or pics of these sets. There are several sources for the 1995 set yet none for the 1996 set. Typos are known to happen. I've seen other privy marks for 1996 Kookaburra coins, but not a Gold Eagle. A 1995 Gold Eagle Set makes sense as a commemorative set for the 200th anniversary of the first US gold Eagle in 1795. A 1996 Set makes less sense. Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! mrcruise Pillar of the Community Australia 541 Posts	Posted 03/01/2023 9:35 pm I referenced the information from Greg McDonald coin catalog on 1996 Kookaburra coins I contacted Perth Mint - they verified there was no set released in Golden Eagle Privy Set in1996 - they suggested confusion may be around the fact they released the 1995 Golden Eagle Privy Set in 1996 Report this Post to the Staff
