A number of years ago, I visited Michael Bean, the former plate printer at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, at his booth at the Whitman Baltimore Expo. He, of course, had his spider press set up in the booth and had a large group of collectors milling about checking things out.

I purchased a pack of note cards w/envelopes that Mike had printed, and came across them today as I was sorting through some things - I had forgotten about them!

Here are a few bald eagle vignettes from the grouping.

This might be overkill, but American Bank Note Co. compiled a bunch of their eagles for inclusion in one of their annual reports, I believe. These are printed on a large vellum sheet and folded. Here are both pages.

@GregAlex: Thanks for posting the American Banknote pages - "the more, the merrier" when it comes to bald eagle vignettes IMO!

From 1987 to 1992, American Bank Note did an Archive Series with a portfolio of 12 engraved panels per year, each on a different theme. The panels included multiple vignettes drawn from their vast stockpile. There were so many different bald eagles to choose from that almost every year one panel was titled "Winged Majesty" featuring them.

Here's one that I've never been able to find on any banknote or security. Engraved for Continental Bank Note Co. probably in the 1860s.

Here's one I picked up a few weeks back. This eagle was engraved by Republic Bank Note Co. and they used it frequently on their stocks and bonds.
