Hey hey diggers! ( and collectors of all kinds too!)
As promised, I put together a post of my favourite coin finds of 2020; coppers trumped the silvers this year but theres always next year to change that.

I had a pretty decent year of finds right from the beginning, finding a McCausland penny in the first week back in April set me up for stellar year that fell flat in the fall with difficulty getting my coil over some meaningful finds but pulled it all off with a nice Connecticut copper in the final moments of my last hunt with all the other fun finds being spread out over the spring and early fall.

Lots to consider but I trimmed the keeper pile down to a dozen standouts...some have good value and others are basically worthless but they are all winners for me.
In no particular order here are the finds! I concentrate on pre Confederation sites so the majority of my finds are from that era.
Nova Scotia cent 1862
Connecticut copper Miller 6.1-M
Tiffin halfpenny token LC 47 A1
Nova Scotia JB Warehouse blacksmith Bl 31
Tiffin penny token LC 47 D1
Prince Edward Island cent 1871
Ireland one penny token 1820 9 strings
McCausland penny PE-2
1815 Ships Colonies PE 9B1
Counterstamp IP halfpenny
Ships Colonies PE-10xx
French Decime Dupre l'an 5(1796)

Now for the silver finds!
Tough year catching silver...only fourteen pieces all year!
No colonial silver this round, although I did get a couple of British six pences, they were my oldies for this season.
Interesting find was a seated usa dime, we don't get many so it was great addition to my collection. However, my 1865 Newfoundland Twenty Cent Piece was the clear winner for me..
My first 20 cents and first year of issue!

I'm already making plans for next spring doing research and making contacts for new and continuing permissions for great old sites to search and save all the relics coins they hold.

I hope this year was as meaningful to you as it was to me in the detecting and collecting world and 2021 is more prosperous and fulfilling to you all!
