I purchased this check because it appealed to me: I liked the business name and steer's head vignette.

Now, I am asking people more knowledgeable than myself what type of check is this?

It is a business check. A counter check would not have the business name on it, only the bank name.

Actually, I believe it is a draft.

Thanks lettow. I've placed this check in an over-sized holder as it is much bigger than my picture would lead one to believe.

An interesting sidenote-- the Post Office moved into the space occupied by the bank after it closed in the mid-30s. In the 1980s,the post office relocated across the street to a portion of the community center. The building was still standing until a few years ago when one of the walls gave out.

Details like where this business was located, owners and how long it was open I haven't come across yet but hoping more research may give me some more answers.

It seems like it is a business check.
