I purchased a Bengal Sultanate AR tanka - G&G B152 - Shams al-din Ilyas - al-Balad Firuzabad 25.2 - 25.6mm 10.8g AH 75x, (too much of the date is off flan for a good read, spelled out counter-clockwise at 6k, first pic) Anyway the reason for this topic is that the Schroff marks, or bankers marks, whichever the case may be, which are prevalent in Bengal Sultans coins, but normally stamped into the face, have been stamped into the edge rim of this coin, thereby not interfering with the mint design, which I thought was very considerate. The last picture shows some cut marks to test the metal I presume. I haven't seen any other reports of this, and wondered if anyone else has come across this edge countermarking before?
