the "cheapest way out" is often more expensive than just selling the way it is, or (if not selling) accepting it the way it is.

filling the holes with decent examples has the best chance from an investment standpoint.

filling the holes with the best you can afford even more so.

the question begs, why so eager to fill the album with crap?

I'm not looking to sell, I'm looking to complete it. I like collecting until things are complete, than onto the next. I'm looking to buy the cheapest of each coins I don't have because I have another 10 or so various books I'd like to complete as well. Once they're all full I'm hoping to pass any down to my daughter (10 now).

And if she doesn't want them I'll end up an old man at a coin show accepting what young collectors could afford or giving some out to those who can't.

I love seeing all the near perfect coins some have, just not what I need.

If you want cheap, I recommend going to a local coin shop. My LCS has most of the 7070 coins in AG/MS, each with its own cost.

I don't have much of what you're looking for, but I do have a 1862 Half Dime in an ANACS AU-50 Details Environmental Damage holder. While it's a details coin, the "Environmental Damage is extremely minor pitting only visible in certain lighting not to mention I think it's a 55 not a 50.
