This 2 month old thread needs a good 'bump.'

Here's a note I've been meaning to acquire for quite some time & finally got around to making it happen. It came from a US dealer, but this banknote originates from Israel. This 5 Lirot features a portrait of Albert Einstein, the scientist who changed the way we view our universe, on P-34c

And then there are the printers test notes.
Let's start with one of the biggies.

Next up some might not know. Charles Babbage was an English polymath, a mathematician, philosopher, inventor and mechanical engineer.
Babbage originated the concept of a digital programmable computer.

Zénobe-Théophile Gramme, Belgian electrical engineer who invented (1869) the Gramme dynamo, a continuous-current electrical generator

Digital computer inventor John Vincent Aranasoff

Sir Isaac Newton

Hello? Hello?

Da Vinci

I like the Bradbury Wilkinson test note featuring Newton. What year was that produced (must have been before the take over by TDLR)?

I believe the Newton note is from 1969. I own it - it's HUGE! There's also a 1986 calendar with the same front of the test note.

So, here's Newton AFTER TDLR bought BW. There are several years of IBNS conventions that a version of this type was given away by TDLR.
YOU HEARD IT FIRST HERE - TDLR will be giving away a new note this year at the September meeting of the London branch meeting! It's the 60th Anniversary of the IBNS this year. The TDLR test note is from a new series I have attributed in my test note catalog, but I don't know which one yet. LOVE to be at that meeting - free note & several great presentations ALL day.

Like Newton? TDLR has a DOZEN or more variants.

Here's a polymer.

Here's a polymer from SPL. This is now CCL Secure, the maker of the dominant polymer substrate Guardian. A rather expensive note...

I must apologize for my first post with a Babbage notation. That is NOT Babbage. There ARE many Babbage notes, paper & polymer. I have both of these. The polymers are very cool to enjoy in your hand.

A recent Bundesdruckerei polymer test note with Albert Schweitzer. Cool fingerprint & Omron rings.
