Not sure what is going on with this 1996 P quarter. On obverse there is a common die crack on the 1 of the date. Top obverse by the "R" in Liberty something going on...lamination? Then the reverse has 2 die cracks, one around 2 o'clock on eagle wing, one on "O" in dollar. Then on reverse, between the "S" of STATES and the "O" in OF there appears to be another "S" there is also some raised areas in between the other letters of USOA. What does the experts think? Also what type of premium might this add?

With all those die cracks, I expect some of what appears on that coin is from a worn die.

I like finding coins with die cracks but I don't think that they have much, if any, premium value.

However, the crack through the wing is pretty interesting so you might make that a selling point. Let the hunt begin for 'pierced wing' quarters!

If it were BU there might be a little premium, but in circulated condition, it is just interesting. All coins are worth what you can get for them. The more interest, the more premium. It just depends on how bad someone wanted it.

I think what looks like a S between the S and O is CIR handling by the public. Very well could be because of a Worn Die.

All the Die Cracks are cool and it would be great to see this Coin in AU or even better BU.

If u are going to sell it,add all expected fees and start the listing at that price,I would watch my back with this coin if I was to sell it.

I'm not so sure that I would, but it would be fun to put together a little 'just for fun' collection of pierced portraits and critters. Although it might just be too morbid.
